Not really, but since I’m not posting anything else on mah blawg I might as well do it, because I’m watching Breaking Bad and holy shit. I don’t use the word ‘feels’ often, but this show is a generous dispensary of them. Mad generous, yo. I’ve been making fat stacks of feels, like, for real.
Since I’m already in the second season, this first installment will be some brief post-blogging of something that I was really, really impressed by earlier.
Seriously, Indiana state House?
The Indiana state House just passed a bill that forces health clinics that provide the abortion pill (RU 486) to have full surgical facilities.
Why would somebody need a surgical facility to provide a pill?
Meanwhile, in France, abortion is now 100% covered by the government, and teenagers can get free, anonymous birth control.
Meanwhile in The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland* abortion is illegal, except in certain circumstances where the mothers life is directly at risk. The penalty for performing an abortion in these countries is life imprisonment.
Contraceptives were illegal in the Republic of Ireland until the mid 1980s. If you want/need an abortion you have to travel to Great Britain or the European mainland.
*Northern Ireland is part of the UK, whereas the Republic of Ireland is a totally separate country. Great Britain is the island that consists of Wales, England, Scotland etc.
